| JOB TITLE: Technology Specialist II DEPARTMENT: Technology Services DIVISION: Technology Services SALARY: Negotiable CLOSING DATE: Until filled Job Summary/Scope Provides support and maintenance for City of Saint Joseph infrastructure systems and equipment, including but not limited to Desktops, Laptops, Line of Business Applications, Servers, Network Switches, Routers, and Firewalls. Material and Equipment Directly Used Daily use of computers and other computer and printer equipment and appropriate tools used in the maintenance and repair of computers. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is performed in an office setting with a controlled environment, however, can occasionally be in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic). Job can require long hours working at a computer terminal, or in tight quarters during installation of equipment. Occasionally lifts 10 to 20 pounds, with the occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires working in high, precarious places, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electrical shock; Must be able to climb ladders. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or closely related field preferred, or 5 or more years of experience in network administration or PC support. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment. Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
