| JOB TITLE: Cook's Assistant (Part-Time) DEPARTMENT: Parks & Recreation DIVISION: Senior Citizen's Center SALARY: $15.00/HR CLOSING DATE: Until filled Job Summary/Scope Assists cook in meal preparation and serving, and responsible for clean-up of kitchen, dishes and related equipment at the Senior Citizen's Center. Operates a cash register and must be able to accept money and count back change. No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Behavior and Conduct City employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for the circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to, being communicative, informative, fair, honest and respectful. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skills in the operation of a commercial dishwasher and proper sanitation procedures. Skills in preparing, cooking and serving food. Ability to communicate well with center patrons and volunteers. Must have a valid state driver’s license. Six months to one year experience in related field required. Material and Equipment Directly Used Uses equipment such as a dishwasher, oven, commercial mixer, food processor, meat slicer, meat tenderizer, gas stove, along with other related kitchen appliances. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is performed in an indoor setting with a controlled environment. Frequently required to lift to thirty pounds. Majority of the shift is done standing. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Passing of a drug screening required prior to appointment.
