| JOB TITLE: Parking Control Technician DEPARTMENT: Police DIVISION: Civilian SALARY: $19.74470/hr ($41,068.98/yr) CLOSING DATE: Posted until filled Job Summary/ Scope: The Parking Control Technician (PCT) will play a vital role in the enforcement of parking regulations citywide, supporting the Traffic unit within the Patrol Division. This position is full-time and will generally operate during business hours Monday through Friday, however, may involve occasional weekend duty assignments as needed for special event(s). This role involves patrolling designated areas, issuing parking citations, tagging and towing vehicles, and responding to citizen concerns. While the position does not involve law enforcement powers, it requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage interactions with the public in a professional manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other Duties and Responsibilities: Performs all other related duties as assigned. Materials and Equipment Directly Used Uses a variety of equipment including computer ticket issuing equipment. Operates a light truck or other motorized vehicle daily. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is conducted in a vehicle and on foot during inclement weather. Work is performed under a wide range of conditions, including an outdoor setting with extreme hot and cold conditions. Work involves walking, bending, reaching and stooping. Occasionally lifts objects weighing less than 40 pounds. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Education High school diploma or GED. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
