| JOB TITLE: Fitness Attendant DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation & Civic Facilities DIVISION: REC Center SALARY: $13.75/hour CLOSING DATE: October 20, 2025 Job Summary/Scope Oversee the proper utilization of all equipment and provide guidance in the usage of equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs all other related duties as the need arises from daily activities. Material and Equipment Directly Used Fitness equipment to include, but not limited to fitness machines, mats, weights, stretching, audio-video equipment; lighting; fans and regulate HVAC for fitness area. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements. This work requires the occasional exertion of over 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking and speaking or hearing, frequently requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arm’s length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts; work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic). Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Prefer fitness, exercise and health related certifications or any combination of work experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. First Aid/CPR/AED training certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or an equivalent nationally recognized course in First Aid/CPR/AED preferred. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment. Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
