| POSITION TITLE: Superintendent of Water Protection Department: Public Works & Transportation Division: Water Protection SALARY: 70,738.00 Annually CLOSING: Until Filled Job Summary/Scope Provides management and direction for the administration, operation, and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment plant. Serves as liaison with between federal, state, and local government regulators whose purview covers the activities of the division. Directly supervises the supervisory and clerical staff and is indirectly responsible for all the staff of the division to support 24/7/365 operational requirements. Prepares, administers and monitors the division’s budget. Supervisory Responsibilities Integral to the position of Superintendent of Water Protection is the responsibility for developing subordinates to their fullest potential by exercising appropriate degrees of coaching, training, guiding, evaluating, correcting and, if necessary, disciplining. Material and Equipment Directly Used Uses a variety of office equipment including personal computer, telephone, 2-way radio, calculator, copier and other related office equipment. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is performed under a variety of conditions ranging from an indoor setting with a controlled environment to an outdoor setting with extreme weather conditions. Must be able to stand for long periods. Other physical activity includes bending. Education High School Diploma and any combination of formal education and work experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Associates degree in engineering technology, environmental science, or related field preferred. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
