| POSITION TITLE: Superintendent of Streets and Sewer Maintenance DEPARTMENT: Public Works & Transportation DIVISION: Streets and Sewer Maintenance SALARY: $69,013 YR CLOSING DATE: Until Filled Job Summary/Scope Senior level position which oversees the overall operations of street and sewer maintenance departments. Prepares and establishes various work programs and procedures. Directly and indirectly supervises employees in the SIMR garage, traffic, public parking, streets and sewer maintenance groups that make up the SIMR division. Prepares and administers budget for the division’s many operational groups. Supervisory Responsibility Integral to the position of Superintendent of Streets and Infrastructure is the responsibility for developing subordinates to their fullest potential by exercising appropriate degrees of coaching, training, guiding, evaluating, correcting and, if necessary, disciplining. Materials and Equipment Directly Used Uses a variety of office related equipment including personal computer, fax, telephone, etc. Drives a pickup or other similar vehicle on a daily basis and operates radio. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is performed in both a controlled office environment or outdoors with exposure to extreme weather conditions. Ability to drive a pickup or similar vehicle daily and operate radio. Frequently sit or stand for long periods of time. Occasionally lifts objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds and infrequently lifts objects weighing 20 to 40 pounds. Frequent bending and walking. Infrequently works in confined spaces with exposure to hazardous fumes. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to, being communicative, informative, fair, honest, and respectful. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in a related field preferred, or five to seven years prior experience or any combination of formal education and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
