| Position Title: Assistant Environmental Services Supervisor Department: Public Works & Transportation Division: Water Protection Division Salary: $54,032.00yr/$25.976923hr Closing Date: Until Filled Job Summary/Scope Assists in the daily operations of the Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP) and the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program. Coordinates with the Technical Services Manager on Regulatory Issues at the Local, State, and Federal level. Assists with the supervision of the Environmental Compliance Technician. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other Duties and Responsibilities Collects wastewater, stormwater, stream, illicit discharge, and other environmental samples as necessary. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Material and Equipment Directly Used Must be able to operate a vehicle, personal computer, telephone, and camera. Must be able to quickly attain proficiency with automated composite sampling equipment and hand-held analytical meters. There may be times when the use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Environment/Physical Requirement Work is normally performed in an office environment with frequent visits to industrial sites and various sites associated with stormwater/wastewater infrastructure and streams within the drainage basins of St. Joseph. Must have hearing and visual acuity. Environment requires ability to walk over uneven terrain, bend, stoop and perform other similar manual tasks. Frequently lifts from 10 to 20 pounds. Exposure to dust and fumes; infrequently exposed to varying intensities of noise. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Education High School Diploma and any combination of formal education and work experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities bachelor’s degree in environmental science, or other Natural Sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, or Geology preferred. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
