Basic purpose of the job
To implement the sourcing strategy for the local categories in line with the overall Boehringer Ingelheim sourcing strategy to constantly increase productivity, optimize the external global spend,reduce costs.
Develop local strategy for decentralized categories according to the centrally stipulated Target Operating Model (TOM).
Accountabilities
Manage issues on a daily basis with respect to the categories including internal/external partners issues etc.
Interfaces
Senior Sourcing Manager can manage from 1 to 100 million € spend.
Minimum Education/Degree Requirements
Degree/education: Master degree preferred or Diploma degree
Major focus: Business Administration or Pharmaceutic
Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)
4-7 years of sourcing experience in category(ies) management.

Accountabilities
- Implement complex Category Strategy following TOM and delevop it for de-centralized model (incl. Complex and/or high spend negotiation) and inform accordingly local BPs.
- Bring potential innovation to Boehringer Ingelheim and local market intelligence.
- Identify, evaluate and classify sourcing risks and devise risk mitigation measures.
- Manage risk exposure.
- Target Operating Model (TOM) compliance
- Sourcing Cards documented and up-to-date for decentralized & Center led categories
- Cost reductions / savings optimized and documented in Business Cases
- Business Case through innovative ideas
- Ensure continuity of supply
- Risk identified managed and mitigated
- Sourcing market know-how
- Identify and evaluate existing and potential local suppliers as well as the establishment and maintenance of supplier relations.
- Introduce innovation from external marketplace.
- Use Business Review Meeting and KPI leverage to resolve potential issues at an early stage.
- Feedback (senior)Category Manager as needed.
- Segment suppliers following SLP process
- Business Review meetings with critical suppliers for the business with a specific focus on innovation
- Feedback from suppliers (e.g. number of complaints, escalations)
- Achievement of defined KPI's
- Escalation managed in a timely manner
- Manage local Business Partners actively and collaborate in order to align common goals.
- Coordinate Business Partner Demands within Sourcing and ensure that relevant information is shared and Business Partner is supported adequately.
- At least annual Business Partnering meeting to align on goals and objectives
- Participation in key BPs leadership meeting
- Optimize buying channels and leverage market opportunities.
- Leverage sourcing tools (including e- or reverse-auction, parallel negotiation etc ...).
- Maximize usage of Master Services Agreements (MSAs) or Frame Services Agreements (FSAs) as possible.
- Reducing single orders by leveraging frame service agreements when possible
- Catalogue usage and spend managed through this channel

- weBuy usage and Buying channel optimisation (including reduction of free text order)
- PO coverage
- Potentially lead and drive Regional Sourcing projects potentially.
- Sourcing project delivered on time, budget and quality excepted
- Ensure to be aware of mandatory SOP’s including GxP requirements and be in compliance with.
- Act at all times within the local pharmaceutical standards/ethics(ABAC)/legal.
- Report all adverse events to the local PV within the required timelines.
- Follow all company procedures and processes with respect to Finance, HR, IT, etc.
