Located in our St. Joseph, MO office, this role is your opportunity to combine exceptional customer service skills with a passion for agriculture. As part of the Commercial and Performance Programs Departments, you will guide members and commercial producers through enrollment processes that help them unlock the full value of Angus genetics and performance programs.

You will work closely with the Commercial Programs Lead and collaborate with the Director of Performance Programs, ensuring every interaction reflects the Association’s commitment to innovation and producer success. COMMERCIAL PROGRAMS DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently review and process program enrollments for commercial cattlemen.
  • Develop expertise in Association Programs—including AngusVerified, Genetic Merit Scorecard, and GeneMax® Advantage™—to effectively deliver information and tailored solutions for commercial producers.
  • Conduct customer service outreach to support existing and potential program participants.
  • Collect, input, and evaluate detailed data from commercial producers Provide hands-on assistance to producers in showcasing enrolled calves through various marketing platforms.
  • Capture and report sale premiums and prices of program cattle for annual summaries.
  • Manage and submit custom cattle tag orders promptly and accurately to meet customer expectations.

PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in management of the Inventory Reporting program.
  • Provide guidance and support to breeders for annual Inventory Reporting enrollment.
  • Support producers with performance data entry and herd record organization.
  • Identify topics for additional education and training opportunities.
  • Assess herds requiring assistance and deliver targeted training support.
  • Help breeders with data submission and herd management using Association provided tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills, both internal and external, including telephone, email, and messaging.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Must be a detail-oriented, problem-solving, self-starter who will be able to initiate and interact with a variety of producers from different regions of the United States.
  • Must be comfortable in an office environment, utilizing computers, phone systems, and other technology.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn is a must.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's degree in business or Agricultural Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of livestock production including but not limited to breeding, calving, herd management and record keeping is preferred.
  • Two years of work experience in an office setting preferred, especially if in a customer service-related role.
  • An agricultural background is preferred but not required.
