The American Angus Association is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer in its St. Joseph, MO office, a short drive from the Greater Kansas City Area. This position will work with an experienced and innovative team to develop and maintain new and existing web-based software applications for the American Angus Association and its subsidiaries. The role will interact with clients on scope and project deliverables to create software that will have a positive impact for the Angus breed and its members.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop web-based and mobile applications using technologies including, but not limited to, C#, SQL, Angular, Sitecore, Maui, .NET Core, Blazor, and MVC.
• Perform system analysis, design and development of applications, author application documentation, and provide ongoing maintenance and support.
• Develop new features from conception through completion, ensuring an exceptional user experience for customers.
• Play a key role in the build and delivery of software products and services.
• Collaborate across functions to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, secure, and highly available software.
• Assist in debugging and troubleshooting to ensure a smooth user experience and system performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for both software and development processes.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and products.
• Provide support to the Information Systems department by participating in other assigned projects.
• Strong attention to detail with an ability to balance quality and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise project documentation, functional specifications, user manuals, and other technical materials.
• Passion for understanding, learning, dissecting, and improving new technologies.
• Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail with an ability to balance quality and efficiency.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or other applicable fields, or equivalent work experience.
