ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Midwest Operations is seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Manager, Quality. This position provides leadership for the Midwest Quality organization and leads quality systems and strategy across multiple teams across campus. The role is accountable for achieving operational and functional objectives, personnel actions, associate development, team performance, customer issue resolution, and the continued effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
The position supports Quality Engineering, Auditors and Inspectors, Quality Technicians, Associate Development and Training, the Altec Field Campaign Team, supplier quality, and ISO 9001 certification.
Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level within the career path, the job level may be adjusted.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of three years of leadership experience with full-time direct reports.
Mechanical aptitude and relevant product or industry knowledge.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant business or quality-management applications.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and operate effectively with appropriate independence.
Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice.
Preferred Experience
Engineering, Business, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
Quality, manufacturing, engineering, or operational experience.
Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 certification knowledge.
FMEA and control plans, quality audits, inspection, and quality control or testing.
8D problem solving, CAPA, root-cause analysis, and closed-loop quality tools.
Lean, Kanban, Total Quality Management, and continuous-improvement practices.
Supplier quality, warranty analysis, and customer issue resolution.
LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Build relationships across functions and business units and communicate effectively throughout areas of influence.
Coordinate with other leaders to develop and maintain processes and standards.
Develop future leaders and continue developing personal leadership capabilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead quality systems and strategy for multiple teams while ensuring operational and functional objectives are met.
Manage staffing, hiring, scheduling, associate development, performance expectations, and personnel actions.
Establish, implement, and maintain quality procedures, standards, specifications, controls, and documentation.
Lead the quality roadmap and sustain closed-loop quality processes.
Oversee nonconformance, corrective-action, change-request, audit, supplier-quality, and quality-data systems.
Review customer requirements and serve as a liaison between customers and Altec teams to support issue resolution.
Analyze warranty and quality-performance data, identify trends, produce statistical reports, and implement corrective action as appropriate.
Partner with Purchasing, suppliers, operating teams, and manufacturing leaders to establish and maintain quality requirements and procedures.
Sustain leadership commitment and Quality Management System processes in support of continued ISO 9001 certification.
Develop and maintain training programs that promote understanding of and compliance with Altec standards.
Build cross-functional relationships, develop future leaders, and facilitate continuous-improvement activities.
Support department and functional objectives within established timelines and budgets and participate on regional or enterprise-wide teams as needed.
