There is an opportunity for an EH&S Trainer I in St. Joseph, Missouri. This training position will provide environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) training for Altec manufacturing facilities. Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree highly desired or equivalent directly applicable experience on a year-for-year basis; plus one of the following experience levels preferred:
    • One year of classroom training facilitation experience, or
    • One year of facilitating training sessions or RCI events at Altec.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts and maintains presentations, demonstrations, exercises, and examinations to teach EH&S principles in the areas of fabrication, assembly, paint, and final assembly.
  • Provides training and EHS support for Altec Associates.
  • Observes students performing “hands-on” activities and answers students’ questions.
  • Administers written and “hands-on” tests to students to measure progress and to evaluate the effectiveness of training.
  • Administers and/or assists in certification testing for job performance evaluation of technicians.
  • Reports of progress of associates under guidance during training sessions.
  • Coordinates training and materials for contractor/vendor training programs.
  • Makes suggestions on improving safe work best practices within Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing departments and fosters strong working relationships within these areas to develop course materials and receive feedback.
  • Reports training activities to Supervisors and Management.
  • Manages overdue/coming due training across Midwest locations.
  • Manages smart groups and assigns/removes required training following job change.
  • Other duties assigned.
