Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Keep records and compile stock reports. Assist with other daily activities of associates and supervisors. Provide direction and motivation to all associates in cell, area and/or operation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES):
Assist in training and cross training of all stockroom associates.
Lead shift transition meetings daily coordinating the activities of each shift.
Report and assist in any resolution to any issues.
Ensure stockroom associates weekly and daily tasks are completed.
Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
Deliver incoming shipments using a forklift.
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms.
Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in supply rooms or other areas.
Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas.
Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom workers.
Help direct daily activities of other associates in the stockrooms.
Responsible for the reporting and recording of all VMB information.
Coordinate kit pull schedule with supervisor of production.
Work with Engineering on BOM issues and investigate errors.
Oversee 5s of all assigned areas, ensuring parts are organized and labeled appropriately.
Gather safety suggestions from team and report to Supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Forklift operator license.
• Computer usage knowledge, mathematics (inventory) required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing stockroom support, inventory, and production control.
• Must have effective interpersonal skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Varies at each location, but could be extreme hot or cold, depending upon weather conditions.
Job tasks may be inside or outside.
Electrical hazards, elevated surfaces, moving objects, chemical or dust, mechanical hazards, vibrations and noise
Weld smoke and fumes may exist
