Responsibilities

Altec Capital Services (ACS), a division of Altec, is hiring a Syndications Analyst in Birmingham, AL (Corporate Office). The purpose of this position is to facilitate the syndication and discounting of new leasing transactions to various financial institutions in a high volume, high turnaround finance environment; as well as serve as the relationship manager with multiple funder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Available for Sale reports to identify and market syndication opportunities to funding sources on a daily basis.
  • Conduct independent evaluation of all aspects of potential transactions.
  • Prepare and distribute term sheets for Investment Grade credits to Funding Sources and prepare detailed competitive bid analysis on their responses
  • Oversee, review, and recommend pricing strategies to maintain profit margin goals.
  • Provide oversight to prescreen process by working with outside sales and funding sources to determine the marketability and pricing for all transactions larger than $500,000.
  • Update cost of funds and pricing grid weekly by making estimates of current pricing model trends as compared to treasury swap spreads and market conditions.
  • Develop solid working relationship with all funding source personnel.
  • Book and reconcile syndication activity to the General Ledger monthly.
  • Maintain ownership and accountability for the following accounts:
    • Fee Income
    • AR Disco
  • Work closely with accounting department to analyze and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and approve assignment documentation for all discounted leases.
  • Prepare and maintain all syndication analysis spreadsheets.
  • Enter syndication data into the leasing software.
  • Fully understand all Altec Capital leasing products for each structure including accounting, pricing, credit, structuring, legal terms and conditions, and asset management implications.
  • Maintain good channels of communication with all business units and provide constructive guidance.
  • Communicate and resolve potential problems that could jeopardize funder relationships and goodwill.
  • Execute various end of lease duties related to both early termination and maturity management processes.
  • Calculate early termination payoffs for end user customers.
  • Verify accuracy of funding source quotes and negotiate when needed.
  • Maintain relationships with funding sources through daily verbal and written communication with funding source personnel in order to meet syndication requirements and challenges.
  • Some travel required to funding source locations to maintain goodwill and work to streamline processes.
  • Host dinners and events for funding sources as required.
  • Continually automate and improve processes in order to more efficiently and effectively fund transactions.
  • Research and remain current on industry trends.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or other Business concentration required.
  • 3+ years of leasing, capital markets or other financial experience highly desirable especially audit related.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines are a must.
  • Strong personal selling skills.
  • Superior Computer Skills, especially in Microsoft Excel is required. Familiarity with Supertrump, TValue, and HP financial calculators a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and reporting accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid team player with a collaborative nature.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills, able to make decisions timely.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills, with proven experience calculating lease rates, present values, yields, and IRR.
