The Assemblies Technical Sales Support representative is responsible for managing and growing the company’s pre-assembled telecom solutions product line. This includes fiber distribution panels, cabinets, patch panels, pre-terminated assemblies, and related value-added products designed for rapid deployment in the field. The ideal candidate will bridge technical understanding of fiber optic connectivity with strategic business development, overseeing all aspects of assembly configuration, vendor coordination, quality control, pricing, and customer delivery. This individual will work closely with the Manager, various sales personnel, and the operations teams to strengthen existing relationships and develop new opportunities with broadband operators, ISPs, and contractors.
The preferred hire will live in Clarksburg, WV; Morgantown, WV; Pittsburgh, PA; Columbus, OH; Charleston, WV; or Roanoke, VA.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all telecom assembly products (e.g., pre-terminated fiber panels, wall cabinets, preloaded enclosures, and similar configurations)
- Maintain and improve documentation of existing assemblies, including bills of material (BOM), drawings, labeling, packaging, and testing procedures
- Collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure consistent supply of components (fiber panels, adapter plates, pigtails, trays, labels, etc.) from key vendors such as AFL, OFS, Clearfield, Park Cables, and Corning
- Lead product lifecycle management from concept through delivery, ensuring all assemblies meet customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines
- Support the sales team with technical presentations, quotes, and design assistance for assembly projects
- Develop promotional and educational materials to communicate the value of pre-terminated assemblies to field customers
- Streamline the assembly workflow—establish repeatable, efficient processes for quoting, scheduling, and production
- All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum of two years industry specific or Customer Service required
- Above average attention to detail required
- Proven ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- PC skills using spreadsheet, word processing, and other office management applications required
- Two years successful experience in a related sales position preferred
OTHER POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Excellent cross-functional leadership skills
- Technical aptitude for fiber optic products (panels, couplers, pigtails, adapter plates, etc.)
- Proven project management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems (NetSuite preferred), Excel, and quoting/configuration tools
- Ability to train, motivate, and guide collaboration with other teams on product standards and procedures
- Demonstrated record of responsibility
